National Katsu Day

Banana Tree Celebrates National Katsu Day with FREE Katsu for Kat(s) & Sue(s)!

This 27th September, Banana Tree is serving up a seriously flavoursome treat in honour of National Katsu Day – and it’s exclusively for the Katsu-loving Kat(s) and Sue(s) of the UK. That’s right: if your name is Kat, Sue or anything close enough (think Katie, Suzy, Katherine, Suzanne… you get the idea), you can walk into your local Banana Tree and claim a FREE Katsu dish of your choice. That includes: Our signature Katsu Curry The bold Katsu Burger Or our brand-new, totally out-there Katsu Carbonara (yes, you read that right) - all available on our delicious menu.

A Katsu Mash-Up Like No Other

Banana Tree’s Katsu dishes have become iconic, but we’ve gone even bigger this year with the Katsu Carbonara – a playful mash-up that blends silky noodles with a golden Katsu fillet, topped with a rich, Katsu-inspired laksa sauce. It’s indulgent, comforting, and completely unique.

How It Works

Getting involved is simple: Visit your local Banana Tree on 27th September Prove your name is Kat, Sue (or a flavourful variation!) Show you’re part of our Big Flavour Club (sign-up is free and easy) Tuck into your free Katsu dish of choice! The Final Word on Who Qualifies

For those wondering whether “Catherine,” “Suzanne,” or even “Cat” makes the cut – we’ve got you covered. Head to Banana Tree’s Instagram, where our totally independent adjudicator (okay, it’s our Social Media Exec) will be running through the full list of name variations that qualify.

Why We’re Doing It

At Banana Tree, we celebrate bold flavour in everything we do. Our Katsu range is one of our proudest creations and most popular recipes, so National Katsu Day felt like the perfect moment to have some fun with our fans – and who better to celebrate than all the Kat(s) and Sue(s) out there? From curry to carbonara, this is Katsu like you’ve never tasted it before.
