OUR STORY
Since our humble beginning as a small café called Street Hawker in Maida Vale, not much has changed at Banana Tree -apart from the name!
Born out of our founder William Chow’s passion for Southeast Asian cuisine, we’ve been bringing exotic Pan-Asian street food flavours to London, Chelmsford, Oxford and Milton Keynes for over 30 years.
We’ve organically grown to 9 restaurants now, fuelling spirits with the same delicious recipes and values that made us such a hit all those years ago.
A PAN ASIAN FEAST
We hand pick the best dishes from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia to feature on our menu, from soups and salads, to wok-tossed noodles, stir fries and curries, as well as South-East Asia-inspired desserts and cocktails.
Behind the scenes, we are constantly developing plant-based meat alternatives and testing out our recipes so that you’ll love them just as much as the originals.
We can all do our bit to consume less meat to help the planet, and we’re proud to say more than 40% of our menu is plant-based!

Experience a Hawker centre for yourself and gather your friends at our communal bench tables with a round of Dead Man’s Fingers cocktails! Available during happy hour, each cocktail pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes from our menu. Take advantage of our late-night opening and continue your festivities into the early hours in our bar area. Have a swing around in our hammock chairs or watch our skilled bartenders prepare your drinks whilst listening to current hits and party classics.
